Skoda has launched three cars today Skoda Rapid, Skoda Superb and Skoda Karoq. Among the all three the value for money car we found here was the Skoda Rapid. The new Skoda Rapid is now powered by a 3-Cylinder 1.0-L TSI Engine which we already saw on Volkswagen Polo GT and Polo Highline Variant.
TSI stands for Turbocharged Stratified Injection. The turbocharger helps to increase the power of the engine by pumping more air in the combustion chamber. As the 3-Cylinder engine is compact is helps in weight reduction thus, improving the overall fuel efficiency.
Taking about the new engine, the new engine is stunned such that the powerband and torque band remain all along with the rev range. The torque attains its peak at 1700 rpm all the way up to 4000 rpm. This makes the power delivery of the engine linear all the way long.
The all-new 3-Cylinder 999cc TSI produces 110 PS of power and 175 Nm of torque. this engine is mated to either a 6-Speed Manual or a 7-Speed Torque Converter gearbox. Fuel Efficiency is claimed to be 18.97 Kmpl.
Comparing to the outgoing 1.6-L MPI engine of the Rapid, the new TSI engine produces 5% more power, 14% more torque and 23% more fuel efficiency.
Skoda Rapid 2020 will feature an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system on both Onyx and Monte Carlo variants of the Rapid. Onyx variant will offer dual-tone leather upholstery. Skoda Rapid Rider is the price at ₹ 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom), Ambition Variant is priced at ₹ 9.99 lakh, Onyx variant is priced at ₹ 10.19 lakh, Style variant is priced at ₹ 11.49 lakh and the Monte Carlo variant is priced at ₹ 11.79 lakh. Skoda also has a One Nation One Policy that means all the prices of Skoda Cars will be the same across all over India.
